I've been having a lot of time these days since I graduated college. Right now, in the middle of Fall, I feel like I've extended my summer vacation. I'm beginning to wonder how long this will go for. Today, I went out with my friend. The one that got me into beauty. I told her about the Hair Velcro and she went along with me in search for them. And tada! Found them at the Marukai/Daiso store here in Clairemont (a little up north of San Diego). First we went to Mitsua, a Japanese market where they sell groceries and other necessities. We went straight to the beauty dept. and found them for about over 3 dollars. We realized it might have been cheaper going to Marukai. And it was.
The Marukai/Daiso store here looks like it's been broken down into 3 buildings: A grocery market, a home goods store, and an extended home goods store with cheaper items. A lot of the products were 1.98 unless otherwise noted. I picked up something I've been wanting, a clear plastic umbrella! A la Scarlett Johansson via Lost in Translation. I just might go watch that later tonight. It was kinda funny. My friend went to Japan around the beginning of this year and told me a lot of the people there had clear plastic umbrellas.
I should probably have mentioned the Hair Velcro first since it's my next corresponding photo. Well, they didn't have it at the 1.98 store, and instead we found them at the other extended home goods store. For about over 2 dollars, which is still cheaper than Mitsua. I think in total it was like 3.24 and that's with tax. Aren't they great? They also had cute bow ones which I plan on getting on my next trip there. They're a little more expensive at around 6 dollars, but they serve the same purpose and they're cute and decorative. They have polka dot and stripe designs on them. And if you're in a hurry and forget they're on your head, then you have on a cute hair accessory nonetheless. These ones that I got here also come with two peices. And they come in exactly the ones I posted a little while ago: blue, pink, and black. My friend got the pink one.
I picked up this eyeliner at the 1.98 store. They had them in two sizes. A smaller one and this big fat one. I realized I didn't really need the smaller one and so I got this one instead. My friend picked up both of them and another duo eyeliner thing. I wish I took pictures of what she got. She got some really good stuff. I eventually had to try the eyeliner and it works pretty nicely. It could also use a little clean up just to make it look smooth, but it's alright. My umbrella and eyeliner were 1.98 each, and I also picked up an i.d. card holder case which was also 1.98. I figured that I should mention it because it's already in my picture. I thought they would have cuter looking i.d. cases but they didn't. It's pretty good though. It holds around 30 cards. It's funny because my friend got the same one as me but holds up to 50 cards, and hers was also 1.98. hmm.. They don't really say anything too exciting. There are pictures on the top right with a saying, "The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself" and on the bottom left saying, "Target Introduce Good Pricipal." Pricipal? heh.
