5.22.11 Feeling blue

Maybe it's Eric gone, maybe cause I'm getting fat and still hungry. I don't like where I'm at in life.

02.13.11 Shopping, Food, Beauty, Boyfriend

I hope that the title of this post makes sense. My friend's makeup was in shambles so it was the perfect excuse to go shopping. On Friday, we found a big makeup clearance at Target. Picked up a Milani eyebrow and lip pencil, Sonia Kashuk's Reach for the Stars nail polish trio, and Physician's Formula gel eyeliners for Hazelnut eyes (it was the only one on sale). Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond where I picked up a couple of other beauty items. Oh blah, my pictures hardly show any of the items I picked up. Needless to say, I had a fun time playing with makeup with my friend. She picked up a lot of goodies actually. I should have taken a picture of that instead. Then I went and found an awesome grassy toothpaste and toothbrush holder.

And before I picked up my boyfriend from the airport, my other friend and I had a feast of pastries from Hans & Harry's. Delicioso! Blurry outfit of the day on Saturday by my boyfriend. And today we were in search for cervezas this evening.

01.08.11 All Coats & No Play

Reference coat on clearance, 16 bucks, yo.
Coat from Ross on clearance, around 25 dollars.
Coat from Marshall's, around 25 dollars.
I need to stop, I know. But I cannot help but suck myself into the "end of winter" coat sales. These coats aren't anything special. They're not name brand or anything, but they were dirt cheap, it was ridiculous. The last one is the one I'm most excited for because it's going to be a staple in my closet. It's got a classic trench design, except it has this awesome military gold design in between the buttons. It's subtle, but it also says, she's creative, hire her. I should probably mention I went to school for art and design, (and that's all I'm going to say). I actually even wore this for new years. I've got a terrible but mean story that I wish I could tell, but unluckily for my new years resolution, I told myself I'm going to try and be more nice, so I'm ashamed for even bringing it up. Ahh, this is going to kill me. I've already broken a few other resolutions.

This is also going to sound really weird, but I'm also really liking the trench, and also the first one because it has this awkward pocket angle. I hope I'm not the only one who likes this too, but whenever I place my hands in the pockets, my hands are places more towards my hips, making my arms look a lot more slimmer than they are. haha. As opposed to the second one where the pockets are more lower, and my arms just fall limp. hahahaha.

12.2.10 LNO (Last Night's Outfit)

(Oh, by the way, I'm wearing an old 1970's wool cardigan from my mom, a cable knit sweater from Target, cordoroy pants from Banana Republic, dark brown suede oxfords shoes. And cream colored Fossil messenger-type bag.)
My outfit of last night. Or, the beginning of the month. It was my friend's birthday and she had it at this American eatery in Point Loma, here in San Diego. It was really pretty. Right on the bay. I unfortunately didn't bring my camera. But I do plan on going back, just as soon as Eric, my bf comes back home.

So my outfit probably looks a little frumpy. But I'm also beginning to feel like it's me too. Ever since Thanksgiving, and the fact that it's getting cold, I always tend to gain weight around this time of year. Not that I'm entirely fit or anything. I don't have a schedule of exercising, even though I'd like to. To be honest, probably like most people, I'm feeling insecurities in myself. I'm also going to be a bridesmaid next month and the dress I have to wear show's a lot of arm. And my arms right now are buffer than ever (and I mean that in a sarcastic, they're really thick as thieves right now, kind of way).

But let's not be a Debbie Downer on myself. I'm excited in a way to find out that one the reality shows I watch, America's Next Top Model chose its winner last night. And I'm really excited over how beautiful her makeup looked in the very, very end. hmm. I should probably mention who it is, but I had to watch it through a recorder. It's one of the Tv programs I watch and because I wasn't able to watch it on time last night, I taped it. So, if there's anyone who reads this that doesn't want to know who wins, then stop reading now. I really didn't think it was rigged. And I really, really thought Chelsey would win. But no, it was Ann (who I was routing for), but I must admit, it really did seem like a hard pick. In a way, the only thing I can come of it being rigged probably had to do with the fact that the prize is looking for more of a high fashion look, which is Ann, and that was probably why they both met with the head guy at IMG, so that Chelsey could get booked too.. whatever, I don't know. But I'm really excited that the underdog won. If there's anyone's makeup look I want to attempt to copy, it would be Ann's at the very, very end. It was beautiful. She had smokey black and silver/grey eyes, with vibrant pink cheeks. I'm so inspired, I'm going to attempt her look on my own face.

11.10.2010 FOTD, OOTD, HaOTD (Hair Accessory)

Check out my new hair accessory. Actually, it's another one of my newest asian product obsessions. It's actually similar to the hair velcro clips I got. It holds snuggly on my hair through velcro. I was in the Clairemont area today and stopped by Marukai again. It's ridiculous what I had bought. I also bought another one of the hair velcro clips that I already have, but this time I got the pink ones. They're actually not so expensive. And well, that was pretty much it.
I never really touch up during the day unless I'm at home, and obviously need it. So these are my eyes at the end of the day. I think it's the primer that kept it from creasing. I also didn't wear eyeliner today and I'm liking it.

11.7.2010 Lovely Details

This would probably classify as fashion, but I don't really think of myself as a fashionista. I'd like to be but I can't afford most fashionable clothes. I don't really go shopping, and I try to make do with what I already have. I wear a lot of stockings, leggings, tight pants, black, coats. I have a lot of prints/textiles clothing, but am trying to steer away from that and if anything find solid neutrals with cute embellishments on them. Yes, those are what I'm currently in search for.

This is a dress I got for myself on my birthday. It was a hefty spend at Anthropologie. It wasn't my outfit of the day, or a uniform I've been wearing, but it's something I plan on wearing to my friend's bridal shower next month and then I'll probably wear it more often. When I decided to try it on again, I noticed it had this cute scallop detail on the edge of the dress. I cannot wait to wear this. Because it was big spend, I was only thinking of wearing it on a lovely occasion and then later wear it on hot casual days or pair it with tights on cold days. Most likely next month soon, I'll post this in an actual outfit of the day post.

11.2.2010 OOTD

(top and leggings H&M, skirt Gap)
If I keep these posts up, I should probably invest in a remote control for my camera. I originally had on a different shirt. I think I'm glad I changed it. I'm also glad my face got cut off because a FOTD and a HOTD wasn't worth showing.
